Building on a base of Cabernet Sauvignon, the aromas are a complex myriad of dark cherry and fresh plum. With Cabernet Franc making up 16% of the blend, the savory and slight floral spice comes through with just a hint of new-French-oak vanilla. But what really separates this wine from a classic French style is the depth of the palate and the inclusion of Malbec. The cherry and dark berry essence flows beautifully into the mid-palate while the mountain-grown tannins provide the structure supporting the lingering finish. Bold and ageworthy, look for great pairings with richer foods and celebrate the unique aspects of the El Dorado appellation.
