History
The Nicolas family has been producing wine in Saumur Champigny for six generations. The domaine consists of 15 hectares of vineyards around Turquant, a winemaking village also known for its troglodytes. The Saumur Champigny AOC area takes advantage of the special geographical situation; protected by the forest of Fontevraud Abbey and the Loire, it enjoys exceptional sunshine and mild weather. Vincent Nicolas has focused his efforts on the incremental improvement of the vineyard
(grassing, green harvests and thinning) in order to fully express the potential of the terroir where Cabernet Franc and Chenin are the main grapes.
