In Venetian, the Doge, was the chief magistrate and leader of the Most Serene Republic of Venice, a role that began in 697 and that lasted until the fall of the Venetian Republic in 1797. The Doge was the equivalent of the King of Venice. The Doges residence was the Ducal Palace in Venice, known in dialect as Cà del Doge.
The winery is located in Trebaseleghe, a rural town a few kilometers from the center of Padua, Treviso and Venice.
