Mâcon-Villages is a fairly lively, very charming wine. When very young, whatever the year, it is
characterised by floral and fruity aromas, with a few nuances of lemon and a beautiful minerality.

ESTATE
The well-known lord Jules du Souzy, winegrower and aristocrat, lived in the Château de la Terrière
during the 19th century and developped the reputation of the castle. The wines from Jules du Souzy
are from high density vineyards. Grapes are harvested healthy and with good maturity. The
winemaking is traditional and respects the quality of the harvest and its terroir. This philosophy
allows the wine to develop its identity an fruitiness.
SOIL
The wine-producing soil of the Mâconnais is mainly soft limestone over layers of marl, loam and
broken pebbles, one of the oldest soil in France.
VINIFICATION & AGEING
Crushing and pressing the grapes to extract the must, then fermented at controlled temperature.
Aged on the lees in stainless steel oak. Bottled at 6-8 months before release.
