One of the stars of the vintage, it will be interesting to see if Poyferre ultimately eclipses Las Cases as the finest of the three Leovilles.
The 2009 is even better than the 2000, 2003, and 2005.
Its inky/purple color precedes a wine filled with extraordinary opulence, voluptuous
    texture, and sweet
    tannin.
It offers both intellectual and hedonistic pleasure with layer upon layer of ripe fruit.
Yields were 43 hectoliters per hectare, the blend is more than two-thirds
Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Merlot, and the natural alcohol is the
highest ever measured at this estate, 13.95%.
The high alcohol is not the least bit noticeable because of the extra
ordinary concentration and freshness possessed by most 2009s
a vintage characteristic that will serve these wines for decades to come.
This is a wine to purchase by the caseload.
It should drink well for 4-5 years

  6. ROTATION CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2016

    ROTATION CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2016

    $11.99

We fermented at slightly higher temperatures than normal to coax the richness from the Cab Sauvignon grapes. We picked some plots earlier than others in order to manage a balance of vine ripeness and fermentation technique. Opens with beautiful ripe red and black currants on the nose and a touch of smoke, and the six months fermentation in 25% new French oak adds a touch of vanilla and silkiness to the fruit-forward palate. The Cab Franc and Merlot provide a further depth of fruit and soft spice to create a well-balanced California Cabernet Sauvignon. Learn More
  7. HOOPLA CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2014

    HOOPLA CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2014

    $23.45

This generous Cabernet has a deep, inky purple color and is very ripe with blackberry and blueberry fruit. The palate is very concentrated with deep plum and pomegranate flavors which include some pianoforte spices. Though the wine is very concentrated, it is balanced with acidity and its oak profile while ample is integrated. Overall the wine finishes ripe with black cherry, cassis and spices very supple and silky and long on the finish.

  8. HOOPES CABERNET SAUVIGNON NAPA 2014

    HOOPES CABERNET SAUVIGNON NAPA 2014

    $53.95

This wine, born out of our curiosity, has matured into a stunning wine which over-delivers for the price on intensity and richness. We are so proud to introduce this beautiful example of what a blend of various sites in Napa Valley can do. On the nose it presents with sweet and floral elements. It reminds me of raspberry violet candies, sweet cherries, and delicate rosewater. On the mouthfeel, the wine is lush and generous, with a hint of sweetness and a full, but supple, texture. It’s finish is focused and lengthy with an acidity that creates an integrated finish

  9. HOOPES CABERNET SAUVINGON OAKVILLE 2013

    HOOPES CABERNET SAUVINGON OAKVILLE 2013

    $84.95

Rich, deep wine. It is juicy, with layers of dark cassis, blackberry and cherry, as well as elements of coal, baking spices, leather and graphite. I love how this wine opens up and pops in the mouth with complexity on the nose, but freshness on the palate. This wine follows through to a lovely finish with supple tannins.”
